The effectiveness of UVC light for killing airborne pathogens is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and US Centres of Disease Control (CDC).
As air is circulated through the Garbage Doctor and our other sterilisation products, it is exposed to reflective chamber containing an intense UVC light. This UVC light has a special germicidal wavelength that can kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.
Disabling the DNA of Harmful Microorganisms
UVC utilises the short wavelength of UV (253.7 nm) that is harmful to forms of life at the micro-organic level. It is effective in destroying the nucleic acids in these organisms so that their DNA is disrupted by the UV radiation. UVC has a deadly effect on micro-organisms including pathogens, viruses and moulds.
