In many cases the Garbage Doctor® systems are an excellent alternative to garbage room air conditioning. This is because air conditioning in the garbage room often increases odour as opposed to decreasing it! Why? Because air conditioning increase the airflow within the bin room, and the more air that flows over your odour source (i.e. the garbage bins or compactor) the more odour is created! Imagine putting a nice roast meal in front of a fan, the smell will permeate the room much faster than without the air movement from the fan – and the same principle applies to garbage bins. If you need to have an air conditioning system, ensure it is set to the lowest fan speed and set in a direction to minimise air movement near the garbage odour source.
