Odour control equipment rental: what's included
Rent a Garbage Doctor®, Odour Doctor® or Scent Doctor® system, and the servicing, lamps, parts and fragrance refills are part of the rental. Most of our customers rent: the rental is all-inclusive, covering the machine and all servicing, consumables and maintenance.
What the rental includes
Everything the machine needs to keep working:
- Installation by our licensed technicians, usually free of charge
- Servicing on a regular schedule
- Replacement lamps
- Replacement parts
- Fragrance refills, on systems that scent
- An electrical test and tag at every service
- Callouts between scheduled visits
- The equipment warranty, for as long as the rental runs
How the rental works

- We look at the site, from your photos or on a visit, then recommend a system and quote.
- Our technicians install the machine and set its output for the space.
- We service the machine on a schedule, replacing lamps and parts and refilling the fragrance.
- Between visits, call us if the machine needs attention, and we'll come back.
Why do most customers rent?
A machine in a bin room or loading dock works 24/7 in a harsh space. On a rental, the upkeep is ours. Lamps, parts and fragrance are replaced at each service, and you call us between services if anything needs attention.
The equipment warranty covers the machine for as long as the rental runs. You don't need to budget additional service costs, it's all included.
Installed and serviced by our technicians
We've supplied odour control since 2006, with tens of millions of proven real-world operating hours. Our licensed technicians install and service every machine we rent. The Garbage Doctor and Odour Doctor machines are designed and built in Australia, and our technicians know each model in detail.
We're available by video call, and you're welcome to send us photos or videos of the space before anyone visits.

Buying outright instead
Our ozone-only machines can also be purchased outright, and any machine with scent, such as the Garbage Doctor Duo or an Odour Doctor with a scent tank, is available to rent. An ozone-only machine you buy comes with a 48-month on-site warranty. For our customers who have purchased their ozone systems, we service these twice per year: a mid-year service and an end-of-year service (which includes replacement lamps and carbon filters, as required).

Questions about the rental
Is a rental the same as a lease?
Yes. We call the arrangement a rental, and some customers call it a lease. Rental and lease mean the same thing here, with the same inclusions.
How much does the rental cost?
Your quote sets out the rental for your site. The system we recommend depends on the space, where the odour comes from and whether you'd like fragrance, so we quote each site on its own.
How long is the rental, and what happens at the end?
Your quote sets out the term and we're happy to talk you through any part of the quote before you decide.
Is installation included?
Usually, yes, free of charge. There are some installations, such as particularly large spaces, for which we might be required to charge a nominal installation fee.
What if the machine needs attention between services?
Call us on 1300-ODOURS (1300 636 877), and a technician visits your site to look at the machine. Any callouts between scheduled visits (should they be required) are part of the rental.
Does the rental include the fragrance?
Yes. On a system that scents, such as a Garbage Doctor Duo or a Scent Doctor, fragrance refills are part of the rental.
Which machines can I rent?
Garbage Doctor, Odour Doctor and Scent Doctor systems are all available to rent. Our ozone-only machines can also be purchased outright.
